As per our plan, we decided to start our trip on the next day by visiting the Sitanadi Wildlife Sanctuary in Chhattisgarh, which was around 73 kilometres from the city. The Sanctuary was named so because of the famous Sitanadi River, which originated from the middle of the Sanctuary and converged with the Mahanadi River near Deokhut. The place was extremely sensational, thanks to the diverse flora and fauna. It was loaded with plants of various species. Some of the most famous trees that we could see were Semal, Tendu, Harra, Ber and Mahua. The deep forest served as home for many wild animals and we were extremely excited to see them. We knew that the Sanctuary had many wild animals such as bison, jackal, and wild dogs, hyena, monkey, deer, chital, sambar, nilgai, cobra, python, and many more.
The wildlife Sanctuary was spread over an area of 556 square kilometres and situated at a distance of 73 kilometres from the city. The Sanctuary was amongst the best ones in the entire central portion of India. Ever since the establishment of the place in the year 1974, it had undergone many changes due to the frequent damages caused by various reasons. We were lucky to spot some unique animals such as nilgai, cobra, jackal and hyena and captured their pictures with our powerful DSLR cameras.
The Sitanadi Wildlife Sanctuary Chhattisgarh was an ideal place for people who love adventure. The dense forests gave us thrills while the different kinds of sounds that came from inside were scary. Due to our curiosity, we decided to hire a car, which could take us inside the forest. The forest officials however prevented us from going very deep into the forest. As per our promises to them, we didn’t go much further and returned after some time. The short journey inside the dense forest was simply thrilling. After that, we had our lunch in one of the best multi-cuisine restaurants available in the surrounding areas. After spending some exciting moments, we planned to move towards our next destination i.e. the famous Chitrakoot falls. It was not far away from the Sanctuary and we reached the place in our hired car.
