After visiting the snow covered Rohtang pass the next tourist attraction that we visited was the Solang valley which is located at a distance of merely 10 kilometres from the picturesque hill town of Manali. One can enjoy the bounties of nature on the banks of the Beas River that is at an altitude of 8500 feet above sea level. It is truly a peaceful and serene place located amidst lush green dense forests and mighty snow capped peaks of the Himalayas.
It felt like celebrating nature in the alluring environs pertaining to the ravishing green valleys, vast cerulean skies and the snow linings on the distant peaks. Tourists in huge volumes visit this famous destination to seek refuge from the hot summers. There are a number of active as well as passive tourism pursuits that have emerged due to the tourism significance of the Solang valley. The Ski school of Manali is located at this very destination.
The Solang Valley is a treat for picnickers and skiers due to the geographical features of this region. There are beautiful ski slopes and picnic spots that draw vacationers from nearby as well as far off places. During the winter season the HPTDC offers variety of ski packages to cater the needs of the rapidly increasing demand for skiing at Solang.
It is such a divine place and the atmosphere there is so soothing and alluring that I didn’t feel like leaving at all. The day that we spent at the Solang Valley is surely one of my best holiday experiences that I would cherish for years to come. Finally we had some hot coffee and delicious snacks at one of the eateries that was located in the vicinity and headed back to our hotel at Manali.
